Approximately 450 AOC winegrowers in the Nantes region (Muscadet – Gros Plant du Pays Nantais – Coteaux d’Ancenis)
8000 hectares of AOC vineyards in three departments (Loire-Atlantique, Maine et Loire and Vendée)
Approximately 300,000 hectoliters, or the equivalent of 40 million bottles, of wine sold 85% in France and 15% abroad (United Kingdom, Belgium, USA, Japan, etc.) 55% via negociants and 45% through direct sales (mass retail, winery shops, cafés, hotels, restaurants, wine shops, export, etc.)
According to Article L 642-17 of the Rural Code, the Fédération des Vins de Nantes has been acknowledged a Defense and Management Body (ODG) by the General-Director of INAO (National institute of origin and quality products) for the following AOC: MUSCADET, MUSCADET SEVRE ET MAINE, MUSCADET COTEAUX DE LA LOIRE, MUSCADET COTES DE GRANDLIEU, GROS PLANT DU PAYS NANTAIS and COTEAUX D’ANCENIS. The Fédération des Vins de Nantes participates in the protection and promotion of terroirs, local traditions and expertise as well as of the resulting products.
An ODG BRANCH with sections for each of the three regional AOCs of the Vins de Nantes (specifications, quality control, protection of names and geographical areas, techniques and testing, coordination with the crus communaux)
