THE WINES

Cultivated by forty winegrowers, Muscadet Côtes de Grandlieu wines are matured on lees for a minimum of six months. They are silky and delicate with floral aromas and sometimes have a touch of brine or salt, a nod to the nearby ocean, even though they are grown on the shores of a freshwater lake!

THE TERROIR

The Muscadet Côtes de Grandlieu appellation was created in 1994 and named for the Grandlieu lake—France’s largest natural plains lake—south of Nantes. Grapes are grown in the area around the lake on 230 hectares (568 acres) of gneiss, granite, mica schist, amphibolite and, in certain places, sandy soil.
